How can I book a ticket?
You can book tickets directly on the European Sleeper website or through major rail booking platforms.
What accommodation types does European Sleeper offer and which is best for sleep comfort?
You can choose between regular seats, couchettes (5 person sleeping compartments), and sleepers (up to 3 person compartments). with private cabins offering the best comfort and rest for long overnight trips. Bedding or sheets are provided in the couchettes and sleepers. Learn more about the train and its compartments
Is there a dining car on board the train?
Light snacks and drinks are available on all trains, and you can bring your own food.
On some journeys, a dining car is available, though in the summer of 2025, we will not be operating our dining car on trains between Brussels and Prague, and vice versa. However, assorted drinks and small snacks can be purchased from the train crew. Read more about our future plans.
Is breakfast included in the night train?
It depends on the type of compartment you have booked:
• sleeper compartment: breakfast included in the ticket.
• couchette & seating compartment: you can buy a breakfast via our website during booking, or ask the stewards on the train.
How much luggage may I bring with me?
Luggage is included in the ticket price. We recommend bringing no more than one suitcase or a backpack and a small daypack.
You’re also welcome to travel with a folding bike or a bike packed in a bag (no larger than a standard suitcase), as well as a pair of skis or a snowboard. Please make sure skis or snowboards are stored safely and don’t get in the way of other passengers. When in doubt, ask the train crew for help.
You must be able to carry and store your own luggage in the racks above the seats or couchettes. Luggage must not block the aisles or exits at any time.
Are there power sockets on board?
Yes, most compartments offer power sockets except for the seating carriages.
Can I bring my dog in the night train?
Dogs and cats are allowed. Provided you book a private compartment. Guide dogs for the visually impaired and people with restricted mobility are also welcome on the European Sleeper trains. No other types of pets are allowed on the European Sleeper trains. Read more about travel with dogs

Bicycles are allowed with a reservation, subject to availability and space. Read more about travel with bike
How do I book group tickets, and do I get a discount?
For groups, it is best to book multiple compartments in one go. If you want to travel with 10 or more people (for example: a school trip or company outing), submit a request. We'll get back to you with a tailored offer.
Is European Sleeper eco-friendly?
You bet. Trains are one of the greenest ways to travel, and we’re all about reducing emissions (and night-time airport chaos). Visit our Sustainability page to see exactly how much carbon you save by travelling with European Sleeper.
When should I arrive at the station?
It’s recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure.
Do European Sleeper trains have onboard toilets and wash basins?
Yes, each European Sleeper carriage has two toilets and a wash basin.
Does European Sleeper offer air-conditioning or heating in all compartments?
Most compartments have basic ventilation or air-conditioning, but temperatures can vary. In summer you can open the windows for that nostalgic experience!
Can I change or cancel my ticket?
Yes, you can, but there are terms and conditions: (1) no refund for cancellations of an Easy Night ticket, (2) 100% refund for cancellations of Good Night tickets up to 30 days before departure and 50% refund for cancellations up to 15 days before departure, (3) 100% refund for cancellations of Flex Night tickets up to 48 hours before departure. We’re a Dutch-Belgian rail startup with a dream: to bring back the golden age of night trains (minus the smoking cars). Are we reliable? Most of the time — though we’re still a young company, ironing out the wrinkles of international rail. Expect a bit of adventure, and know that we’re improving with every journey.
