In spring 2026, we launched a new bond offer to help grow European Sleeper and expand night train travel across Europe. Thanks to the support of our community, we raised more than €3.7 million. Together, we're taking the next steps towards connecting even more people, places, and stories by night train.

Our cooperative
In 2021, European Sleeper was founded by Elmer van Buuren and Chris Engelsman. A cooperative model was chosen since the company was established and financed by a broad community of night train enthusiasts. Now over €20 million has been raised, €10 million in equity and €10 million in bonds, supported by over 7,000 shareholders and 2,000 bondholders.
Two ways to invest in European Sleeper
We offer two different investment products through two separate platforms:
Shares (Equity Investment) via Eyevestor
By purchasing shares, you become a co-owner of European Sleeper and contribute to our mission of connecting Europe by night. Shares do not pay monthly interest. Potential returns on your investment may come through:
- Dividends, but only if European Sleeper generates a profit and the Cooperative Members decide to distribute part of that profit. Investors can become members of the Cooperative by investing above the minimum threshold applicable to a particular sharefunding round.
- Selling your shares to interested buyers through the Eyevestor Marketplace, subject to market demand and availability of buyers.
- A future liquidity event, such as an acquisition of European Sleeper or another transaction involving the company's shares.
Bonds (Bond Investment) via Broccoli
A bond is a loan to European Sleeper for a fixed term. Bond investors receive monthly interest payments and, subject to the terms and conditions of the bond offering, the invested amount is repaid at the end of the term.
Two platforms, two investment products.
Eyevestor is used exclusively for share investments, while Broccoli is used exclusively for bond investments. Please note that investing involves risk, and returns are not guaranteed.
