Night trains invite all kinds of travellers. Whether you are looking for calm or conversation, we offer the space to travel your way.

Shared compartments
A great way to meet fellow travellers and share stories. Compartments are mixed by default, but you can also choose a women-only compartment.

Step 3: Pack for a good night

You do not need much to feel good onboard. A few well-chosen items go a long way.

Things to pack:

  • Pyjamas or cosy loungewear
  • Toothbrush and a small towel
  • Earplugs and a sleep mask (very important!)
  • Phone charger and a power bank
  • A good book or downloaded podcast
  • Water and light snacks

There is space to stow larger luggage under the beds or in your compartment.

Step 3: Pack for a good night

Step 4: Settle in for a cosy evening

Enjoy the ever-changing views from the open window as the train rolls gently through the landscape. Settle in with a drink in your cosy compartment, chat with your travel companions or simply relax and unwind.

When night falls, lock the compartment, feel safe and secure, and sleep soundly in your bunk. And if you wake in the middle of the night, just peek out of the window for a glimpse of a quiet station or a moonlit countryside passing by.

Step 4: Settle in for a cosy evening

Step 5: Wake up somewhere new

Waking up on a night train, you open the curtains and you’re somewhere new: maybe a city skyline, maybe countryside rolling past. No rush, no queues, just the gentle rhythm of the rails and breakfast in your compartment.

Comfort class includes breakfast. In Budget and Classic, you can order via our website or with the stewards.

Step 5: Wake up somewhere new

Step 6: Travel with purpose

Taking the train is more than a transport choice. It is a way to travel mindfully, with less impact and more meaning.

  • Night trains emit up to 12× less CO₂ than flying (route dependent). Learn more on our Sustainability page
  • No check-ins or airport stress
  • Watch forests, rivers and city lights pass your window
  • And unlike most modern trains, our windows can still open.

Feel the breeze. Listen to the rhythm of the tracks. Let the journey become part of the story.
